Every time I read an Adam Johnson column, I'm reminded of an old New Yorker cartoon that has a smugly smiling, obviously wealthy woman saying to her husband, "William Safire always says exactly what I'm thinking." Adam is such a great, incisive writer. He understands exactly how the Democratic party breeds so much cynicism and nihilism within their voter base.
